Can I Cancel My Order After It Has Shipped?
No, it is not possible to cancel an order after it has shipped. Once an order has entered the shipping process - which may include picking, packing, or being handed off to the carrier - cancellation is no longer an option.
This phase, often referred to as the "shipping preparation phase," involves logistical steps like preparing and packing the order, making cancellations impractical.
What Can You Do If You No Longer Want an Item?
If the order has already shipped and you no longer want the item, follow these steps:
Wait for the item to be delivered. Use the tracking information provided by the carrier to monitor the delivery progress.
- Example: "Tracking information will be sent via email after your order ships."
Once the item is delivered, initiate a return using the online return portal. Returns will be processed in accordance with McGee & Co.'s standard return policy.
- Important: Return shipping costs and other related fees are the responsibility of the customer. Additionally, refunds are typically processed within 7-10 business days once the return is approved. You may also request a waiver for return fees as a courtesy if your cancellation attempt fails, though this is not guaranteed.
Can I Cancel My Order Before It Ships?
Cancellation may still be possible if the order has not yet entered the shipping process. Orders that are not in the picking or packing stage may be eligible for cancellation. If you wish to cancel:
Contact the Customer Experience Team as soon as possible to request cancellation.
If the order is eligible for cancellation, you will receive a confirmation email, and the refund will be issued to your original payment method. - Example: "Orders can only be canceled if the manufacturer/Fulfillment Center Team has not begun packing or shipping."
Refunds are typically processed within 7-10 business days after cancellation is confirmed, depending on your bank's processing timeline.
Exceptions or Special Cases:
Certain furniture items or items fulfilled by manufacturers: Cancellation may only be possible before these orders enter the shipping stage. For example, furniture orders like the Linton Desk cannot be canceled once the shipping steps have started.
Refusal of Delivery: If delivery is refused, the customer will be responsible for any and all applicable return shipping and restocking fees.
For some furniture items, cancellation requests may require explicit manufacturer approval, which is not guaranteed once shipping preparation begins.
